Good editing is an art form.
An effective editor will ask clarifying questions and build an intimate relationship with your text.
I think structurally, so am able to hold the big picture in mind while I examine the details.
I offer manuscript evaluation services and substantive editing to fiction and non-fiction writers.
I also take on work in the not-for-profit and corporate sectors. Contact me directly if you’d like to discuss your project.

What others have said:
"My meeting with Elizabeth Ruth taught me more about writing, and specifically my manuscript, than I thought possible. She expressed appreciation for my writing, was clear and focussed in recommendations on improvements/options, shared techniques and thought processes from her own experience, and suggested resources. Elizabeth left me feeling that writing is something that can be fostered in the right relationship. I had just about given up, but her close reading of my work gave me an experience that has renewed my enthusiasm and confidence."
